WHAT I VALUE IN A MOVIE
1. Believability, honesty
2. Dry, clever wit/humor
3. Natural dialogue, contemporary and real (or appropriate for the time) where saying less is prioritized
4. Darkness – doesn’t shy away from the shitty parts of the real world
5. A well thought-out music score
6. The unexpected
7. Unforgivingly real
8. Resolution is often better when it’s internal, rather than external
9. People overhearing/seeing things the other doesn’t know about, and now the audience shares that secret
10. Teaches and/or changes perspectives
