SIDEQUESTs are where three game dudes – Jae, Josh, and a plus-one – incrementally fiddle with an old-school RPG, start to finish, with the assistance of vintage game literature – and we pod about it, in incredibly in-depth fashion, the entire way.

Thee sixth quest in our SIDEQUEST lineage was the foundational installment of the little-known Legend of Zelda series, Nintendo’s 1987 stateside release of The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System.  For accompanying literature we utilized both the pack-in instruction manual and The Legend of Zelda Tips & Tactics, a 103-page tome produced internally by Nintendo and published by Tokuma Shoton Publishing. Nick Petrohilos of the Cartridge Command podcast accompanied us on thee quest.
